What timber is used?

As standard we use European Redwood for all our softwood gates. We can also quote for Sapele or Iroko if hardwood is prefered.

Do you take enquiries for Hardwood Gates?

Yes, please contact us for a free quote. Please note this may take a little longer with the ever changing prices within the timber industry, we will need to contact our supplier to discuss the raw materials.

Can I order posts and ironwork?

Yes, we can supply these alongside your gate order.

Do I need to treat my gates?

All our gates come with a clear basecoat treatment as standard, we recommend that you further treat your gates with a fit for purpose outdoor preservative.

Do you offer pressure treatment?

We do offer a Tanalised option, although this may increase the longevity of the timber, this does cause additional movement, shrinkage and expansion to the timber.

Do you offer a fitting service?

YTG does not undertake all fitting jobs and they will be outsourced to a third-party installation team, we will however contact the third-party team to provide a quote or site visit on your behalf.

Do you have a standard manufacturing lead time?

As all our items are bespoke and made to order, the lead time will vary. The current manufacturing lead time will be communicated upon initial enquiry.

How long does the delivery take once leaving the workshop?

We aim to use carriers that will deliver your gates within 3 working days from leaving the workshop but we do not accept any responsibility for delays within the carrier service.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Bank Transfer or payment via PayPal (a 3% surcharge will be applied when using the PayPal method)

Can the gates be automated?

Many of our gates are suitable for automation however some modifications may be required to ensure they are safe and are working in the correct manner. We can facilitate automation. Please add this to the notes section in the enquiry form.
